3 A person that can ride a horse quite well, is getting the hang of swinging their rope while riding has practiced some and has entered a few jackpots but is not consistent at all yet. A Header ropes cattle in last third of arena then gives a low percentage handle for the Heeler and a Heeler tracks a ways trying to figure out timing before making his delivery.

4  A person that can ride a horse and swing their rope with enough control of both to catch slower cattle but is not consistent yet no matter which end they are trying to rope. Very occasional fast run, but not back to back fast runs.

5 A Header that catches 4 out of 5 head most days and is starting to handle slower to medium speed cattle so that their Heeler can catch them.
A Heeler that can get in time and catch most well handled cattle but is not able to be very consistent.

6 A Header that rides well, uses a rope good enough that they rope most of their cattle between half & 3/4 of the way down the arena without breaking the barrier, then handles most cattle so it is easy for Heeler to catch

A Heeler that rides good, is hazing cattle for their Header, uses a rope well, is able to get in time and catch most of the cattle turned for them.

This level roper will handle fresh or stronger cattle well.

7 Header that can ride the barrier close and has their cattle roped and started to handle by 1/2 way down any arena, ropes well at rodeos.

AHeeler that rides a horse very well, handles a rope effectively or easily, hazes their cattle for their Header and usually catches well handled cattle by 2 feet, is always a threat when entered in a jackpot or rodeo.

8 Header that can ride any barrier length close and throws their loop as they approach their cattle then handles cattle quick for faster times, has beat them at the amateur rodeos and is entering pro rodeos.

A Heeler that always hazes their cattle, is a good horseman and uses their rope so well they can rope most every steer turned for them by 2 feet.
